to put away their clothes when they take them off
to play the piano
to chew quietly
to dance in public
to make their beds in the morning
to put on makeup
to exercise more than twice a year
to be proactive, not reactive
to laugh when it all falls apart

Do those things really matter? I manage to be quite successful and happty most days even though I don't make my bed, dance in public, exercise, over-react or laugh when it falls apart. And although I have managed to learn how to play the piano, chew quietly and apply makeup, I'm sure I could still manage quite well in life if I didn't do those things.
You are teaching them the things that really matter - love, family, reading, the gospel of Jesus Christ. Don't despair just yet.
Totally possible! Ever remember thinking, 'my parents did that and there's no way I'm going to do it that way!' Should sound familiar to us all....
I love this. I have a similar blog I wrote, but just couldn't publish, called "27 Ways I Have Ruined My Children." I'm too ashamed to own up to most of them.
Janielle and my sister-in-law have taught me to put on makeup several times, but I just never quite get it. I love it that you don't either. I bet at least one of your girls will get it, and then she can teach you. I, on the other hand, will have to remain hopeless.
